Adreian Payne's Journey is Bigger then Basketball

Among all the wins and losses, some days we lose track of what really matters in sport.  The lessons that we can learn off of the field, the court, the blacktop are much bigger then any three pointer or goal.
THANK YOU Adreian Payne for reminding us what sport is all about...

Act of Sportsmanship Gives High School BIG MOMENT

Team manager, Mitchell Marcus is Coach Peter Morales favorite on the team.  His love for the game earned him a chance to play in the last game for his team Coronado High School in Texas.  Despite the efforts his team showed to try to get him a basket Mitchell was unsuccessful.  With the other team, Franklin High School having the last play of the game, it looked like Mitchell would not have his moment.  This was until Jonathon Montanez, a Franklin High School senior, inbounded the ball straight to Mitchell, who sunk the last shot of the game.  Not a game winning shot, but a shot NO ONE will forget.  It goes to prove there are a lot more important things then wins and losses.

George Boiardi - Selfless Leader

At the EAD Academy we are looking to help cultivate leadership in our athletes.  One person that we know epitomized everything we stand for as an Academy, was George Boiardi.  George lost his life playing the game he loved, lacrosse.  Captain of the Cornell University Lacrosse team, George threw himself in front of a shot fired by a Binghamton University player, and was subsequently struck in the chest.  Boiardi later passed away at the hospital.

Despite his many academic and athletic accomplishments, George is remembered most for his vibrant personality, his ability to inspire his peers, his willingness to put others before himself, and his desire to help those around him. He legacy still lives on at Cornell University.  The kind of leader we hope to help create in EVERY sport.

NOBODY ADMIRES AVERAGE.

Angelo Whittis - Given Home and Future

The late John Wooden once said, “You can’t live a perfect day until you do something for someone who will never be able to repay you.”. Football coach, Cory Parker did that and then some by giving one of his players a home.  By doing that he has also given Angelo Whittis a chance at a future.

NOBODY ADMIRES AVERAGE.

Maggie Dixon - Army Women's Basketball

At EAD Academy we applaud those that go against the status quo.  We want to develop athletes that change things, that want to make an impact on and off the field/court.  Maggie Dixon pushed the very regimented West Point Military Academy, to rally around their women's basketball team.  A team she pushed to win the first ever Patriot League title, in front of hundreds of cadets.  Though her championship caliber life was cut way to short due to an enlarged heart, her impact on sport will never go away.

Tom's Team - Indiana University

At the EAD Academy it isn't just about sports, it is about the lessons that we learn on the fields, in the weight room, on the courts, and in the pools that translate into life.  Tom Morris, strength and conditioning coach at Indiana University epitomizes all of these lessons.  After suffering a mountain biking accident that has left him in a wheelchair, he is fighting to get back to his feet.  He has pushed so many athletes in the past, and now they are all banding together to be a part of Tom's team.

NOBODY ADMIRES AVERAGE.

Inspirational Brotherly Bond

At the EAD Academy we are all about using sport to help others.  This story is one that should inspire us all to help those less able then us.  It is a story of a brother who just wanted to 'play' with his younger brother.  Conner Long reminds us, that no one admires average, and he is much more then average.
